If a border guard asks, it is mandatory. its absence may constitute a denial of entry.

When entering Tailanad, there must be a ticket from the country, on the dates corresponding to your visa (or bizvisa stamp). That is, if you fly on a visa-free stamp for 30 days, then the return flight must be within the next month. The ticket does not have to be reverse". It can be any international flight. At least in Malaysia
