Is it okay to take a deposit when checking into a hotel in Phuket? And do I need to sign something before giving a pledge? Who has what experience.

Pledge under the signature usually. electricity, water will be deducted from there... the rest will be returned upon eviction.

Experience is different. In general, it is normal to take a pledge. I changed a dozen habitats, there were problems once, from my own kindness + from the Russians that time I shot. With the Thais, there were no problems with the return of the deposit. But it is worth understanding: I did not arrange festivals, did not break furniture, did not suck on mattresses, I do not have animals. That is, the meaning is that if you do business in the hut, then you will have to part with the deposit.
