Please advise where to go to see elephants in Phuket. I've tried searching - I only see $100 options like sanctuary.

I would just recommend, if you go, to some shelters, sanctuary. In the rest (including on the way to the Big Buddha) there is usually cruelty to elephants: chains, animal riding, etc. And, therefore, if you do not want to contribute to cruelty to animals, then you do not need to go there, and even more so ride elephants.
