Never give your documents to anyone. And don't move around with them. Leave in the hotel safe. Have copies (photos) of documents in your phone with you - this is enough. In street exchangers, they change money without passports. In malls, they change copies (photo from the phone). TAX free is also issued everywhere by photo.
