Hello everyone. We fly with my family for the first time to Phuket for two months for the winter, We have not yet bought accommodation, we plan to choose something from the hotels for the first 4 days, and then find it on the spot. Is the plan sound?

Relatively reasonable. It depends on where you want to live and what the budget is. The budget here is interesting - how much you can afford to rent is not the most profitable option.
