ED Nonimmigrant study visa is issued for a period of 6 months to 1 year. You can get it in any country where there is a consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand, including in Russia (Moscow/Vladivostok), but you will have to pick up the documents from the school in advance (send them by DHL). Starting from 2017, schools accredited by the Ministry of Education of Thailand can apply for an ED visa without leaving the country. The scheme for obtaining an ED-visa: 1. We find a suitable school and choose a course. The school must have an accreditation form with an official stamp and an identification number. The Council: take English first, then Thai. If you immediately choose Thai, then later, when you want to get a visa through an English course, problems may arise. 2. Three weeks before the end of the current visa or arrival in Thailand, you need to notify the school that you need documents for a visa. Here, schools are usually asked to contribute 50% of the tuition fee. The school will need your passport and possibly a rental contract. 3. We collect a package of documents for a visa: — a passport (valid for > 6 months); — a photocopy of the main page of the passport, certified by its owner (date, signature); — completed visa application form; — 4 3x4 photos for the questionnaire, plus up to 20 photos if you apply for an annual visa; — the consular fee is 2000UAH, in Russia they accept in rubles, in Laos only in baht.
