Kata Mama - delicious and budget-friendly, overlooking the sea. Kata Villa is the same, only without a view, at the junction of Kata and Karon. Steaks awesome in two chiefs.

Still very tasty and beautiful food is served at Unni's Restaurant. The owner is a friend of mine, a young restaurateur. Very attentive to aesthetics. Kata is closer to Karon. Everything is on google Maps.
