It is better to take a guided tour. You have to get to the lake. On a bike you can - but so-so adventure. Therefore, it is better to take a car. It is better to go to the lake with an overnight stay - so you need to take the car for two days. To the lake, if I do not confuse anything - about 200 km. - this is still gasoline for about 500-800 baht. There on the spot you need to take either to look for fellow travelers, or you will have to take the boat as a whole. I will not say exactly the prices, but it seems more than 3 thousand. Plus an overnight stay on the lake - not the fact that they will offer low prices. And then you can count. If you go one day - it is not so interesting - but it can be slightly cheaper than the same excursion. But that's not a fact either.

I went 2 days ago) excellent Long Tail - 1700-2000 (for 3 hours such as an excursion or transfer to the bungalow and back for a sl. day), it is better to find fellow travelers on the pier, it will be cheaper, the amount is divided on all Accommodation on the lake from 1000 baht / person National park -300 baht / person Pier fee - 20 baht / person.
