If on crowded streets - then there are no special problems. If there are some nooks and crannies, then anything can happen. It's like in six months there have been a couple of reports that they snatched a bag from their hands while driving by on a moped.

It's rare that anything happens, so it's almost safe. The locals are not aggressive, the newcomers especially too.

I would say absolutely safe Though, anything can happen anywhere in the world But the two safest countries for night walks, in my opinion, are Thailand and Iran.
