From phi phi to krabi I think you can buy with phi phi even an hour before departure.

So tickets can be bought at almost any travel agency - but it will be difficult to explain about the open dates. It's easier to go to Phi Phi the day before and buy a ticket.

As far as I know – ferry tickets are all with open dates. At least I've never seen a ticket for a certain date, neither there nor the return tickets.
