How strict is everything with the usual small shells when exporting from Phuket?

From February 1, 2018, it is prohibited to export shells and corals from Thailand. The ban applies to both those bought in a souvenir shop and those found on their own on the beach. If shells are found during a random check, violators face a fine of up to $ 1300 and/or imprisonment of up to 3 years.
